Bringing energy and life to the parking structure, The Columbus Architectural Studio collaborated with local artists and the City of Columbus.
At The Columbus Architectural Studio collaboration and care for the community are core values. The Starling Garage showcases that as The Studio was able to work with the City of Columbus and artists to help elevate a parking garage into a statement piece. There are three murals that adorn the structure and are from local artists: “Scioto Magic” by Lucie Shearer, “Creative Consciousness” by Nick Stull, “Vejigante Godmask” by Adam Hernandez, while the starling sculptures are from a Canadian artist.
“Scioto Magic” by Lucie Shearer livens up the intersection of W State St and Starling St.
Iridescence starlings adorn both towers of the parking structure and were created by an Canadian artist.
As the sun hits and light shifts across the bird sculptures, it illuminates colors of purples, greens, and blacks much like the actual starling birds.
To brighten up the structure light toned wooden panels and industrial styled windows add in extra character to the parking garage.
Providing over 1,300 parking spots, this structure combines the city's industrial history with its artistic spirit.
