The Ice Haus concept is the reimagined vision of an existing building district in North East downtown Columbus.
2020
The project brief asked The Studio to create a “World Class” design for the adaptive reuse of an old Ice storage building located in the North-East corner of downtown Columbus. Our Concept’s programmatically included a mix of residential, retail, and office space. The residential tower houses 212 parking spaces, while the mixed-use building is retail on the first level with office space on the upper levels. Our vision was to explore the existing masonry juxtaposed with a contemporary and reminiscent glass addition to the existing structure’s old ice-making capability.
The Arena Grand Theater gets a new life with this renovation to house Nationwide's Innovation space, The CoOperative.
Our team helped to transform the former daily newspaper headquarters — and recent addition to the Historic Register of Places — into a modern work space without losing its historic integrity
Our team’s task: Prove that the first and second floor office space in the skinny, low-ceilinged Dispatch Building could be transformed into a modern, inspired mix of private offices, collaboration spaces, reception, and meeting rooms.
