An industrial warehouse building gets reimagined into modern-day office space.
2020
The studio approached this project with the goal to achieve a successful design solution by creating a unique office space for the Columbus market. This proposed redesign will attract potential clients looking for a signature location proximate to the downtown area for their business. Our studio re-imagined the existing warehouse building into a 21st-century creative space. The design team integrated a redesign solution for increasing leasable square footage by utilizing the height of the warehouse space through the addition of mezzanines. The existing parking conditions also played a role in the influence of the buildings redesign and how users will enter and interact with the building.
Existing Warehouse Site
The Ice Haus concept is the reimagined vision of an existing building district in North East downtown Columbus.
With newfound access to natural daylight, the design team continued to transform the interiors into a modern workspace. To read more about this portion of the renovation, please visit the story titled "The Historic Dispatch Building Renovation".
The adaptive reuse project centered around pulling in natural light and modernizing the workspace. Serving as a landmark for the city, the former Columbus Dispatch Building was placed on the Historic Register of Places.
